The 2nd Australian Tobacco Control Conference

The Cancer Council Victoria, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing, the Victorian Department of Human Services, the Heart Foundation , the Cancer Council Australia and VicHealth successfully hosted the conference in Melbourne from 9th to 11th April 2003. It was an important opportunity for the health promotion sector to consider the latest research in tobacco control and to share strategies that aim to reduce smoking prevalence and extend smokefree environments.

The Conference catered for participants with a range of expertise and was a forum for discussion, debate and information sharing on key tobacco control issues and strategic planning. It provided an important opportunity to inform and to help those who want to enhance their tobacco control knowledge.
